In February, shortly before Valentine’s Day, we welcome the MINNEAPOLIS GUITAR QUARTET to La Crosse for the Wisconsin premiere of Music of
Love and the Stars by Jeffrey Van, a classical guitarist who has appeared several times with the Chamber Chorale as a guest artist.  This delightful
new work, completed in 2016, sets four love poems written by classical guitarist Jesus Silva for his wife.  You’ll also hear Johannes Brahms’s
beautiful Six Songs and Romances, and our pre-Valentine’s Day, love-themed selection of English madrigals.  We’ll also reprise one of last season’s
audience favorites – Shawn Kirchner’s powerful arrangement of the American hymn “Angel Band.”
