The La Crosse Chamber Chorale is a select group of 34-38 singers devoted to providing professional-quality choral music
through its concert performances in the Coulee region. We rehearse regularly on Tuesday evenings, beginning in late
August and running through mid-May. Concerts or events are presented in November, December, February, April and May.
Membership in the Chorale is normally a commitment for the full season, from the end of August through the end of May.
Members pay $40 dues, and are expected to attend all rehearsals and all performances unless sick. If a singer happens to
miss more than 2 or 3 rehearsals during the 10 weeks prior to a concert, s/he may be asked to temporarily withdraw from
the ensemble, and rejoin when the next rehearsal cycle begins.
Experienced choral singers are invited to contact the conductor, Dr. Paul Rusterholz, using the form below to schedule an
audition at any time during the year. New members most frequently join the ensemble in August, but occasionally an
opening arises mid-season.
In an audition/interview, singers will be asked about their complete musical training including vocal, keyboard,
instrumental and previous choral experience. A singer should have a prepared solo in a classical style. The audition will
also include vocalizing in middle, low and high ranges, as well as some sight reading and tonal memory exercises.
